CATTANEO'S STORY
- Mario
Cattaneo was born on 10.02.1920 in Calolziocorte LC
Italy,
after gaining experience in various fields of
engineering Mario and his brother set up Cattaneo
Bros. in 1960.
- In
the 1960's the demand grew for automated mechanical
presses for metal forming.
- Initial
experience was gained working with the Invernizzi
and Manzoni Press companies.
- The
first machines were exclusively mechanically-
operated from the main shaft of the press.
- Developments
in electronics allowed changes to be gradually
introduced, moving into the C.N.C era.
- Cattaneo
s.n.c. was founded in the early Eighties and when
Mario Cattaneo's son Gianluigi and son-in law
Lubrini Mario joined it was transformed into an
s.r.l company.
- This
collaboration was to turn Cattaneo into a forward
thinking and flexible manufacturing company.
- Mario
Cattaneo retired in 1990 to make way for his
successors.
- Technological
progress backed-up by quality and reliability have
been crucial factors in the companies expansion.
- The
company has now been in business for 40 years and
has manufactured and supplied over ten thousand
machines world-wide.
